Edith

I love to photograph newborns.  I think they're my all-time favourite.  Especially healthy, chubby, sleepy, cuddly newborns like Edith.  Edith had a headstart on most of us. She was over 10 lbs at birth. (Her mom is a superhero, by the way.)

She has one very proud big sister.

You might recognize this family. They're good friends and repeat clients.  Check out their other sessions here and here.  I kind of like looking back at the older sessions to see how people have changed and how I've grown as a photographer.

And my favourite idea ever for a turkey-sized baby on Thanksgiving day:

This was the baby's mother's idea, by the way. She gets *all* the credit.

 

Madison

After editting these photos and delivering them next door to some of my favourite clients, I decided that they needed to be shared in a post.

Madison is our newest next-door neighbour.  Sharing a birthday with the future King George, she's a pretty special little lady.  Everyone is so photogenic, it was hard to choose just a few to share.

Let's not forget Madison's big sister, Megan, who is a doll, too!  You may not recognize her, but I photographed her when she was just 6 days old, over 3 years ago!  Check out her session here:  Megan's Newborn Session

Declan

Declan is the adorable son of Miriam & Cam. It was great to see them again. Miriam is doing her residency and often has to work obscene hours on little sleep.  I was so surprised to hear that all that sleep deprivation was nothing compared to the exhaustion experienced while caring for a newborn!

Declan fought sleep for a long time but when he finally did pass out, he was pretty easy going. 

I think that's why it's sometimes so hard to get great pictures of little babies. We need to be oh so patient and just follow their lead. Almost always, the best photos are taken in the last ten minutes of the session.

Jonah

Meet Jonah, the most adorable little man with the sweetest parents and two very large, very protective four-legged 'aunts'. 

Jonah's parents were gifted with a photo session at their baby shower.  I thought that was a fabulous idea!  Gift certificates are available in all denominations.

Loïc

Baby Loïc had a bit of an eventful start to his life.  His loving parents have perservered, though, and he is now a thriving four-month-old.  Here are a few pictures from our newborn photo session when he was just 23 days old.

Love for Luke

Although Luke is almost four months old now, I wanted to share a few more images from his newborn session when he was six days old.  He has changed and grown so much!  You forget so quickly what they were like when they were so tiny. With all the fatigue and emotions and mostly just trying to get through it, you forget how precious that time was. Newborn photos are so special to me.  Everyone should get them done!

Introducing...

the newest member of our family... Luke was born last weekend. Everyone is doing well.

I'm a little preoccupied for the moment, so I'm booking photo sessions for the new year! Give me a shout if you're interested.

Olivia

Joseph and I had the pleasure of hanging out with darling Olivia and her mom a little while ago. You may recognize Charlenne from her maternity session a while back. You can see where Olivia gets her stunning good looks!

Spring

Over the may long weekend Joseph and I travelled to the valley and I spent some time with three different awesome families.  Here's a little taste from those sessions. More to come from each of them!

Megan

Megan is the youngest and tiniest client I've had to date.  We did this session on her one-week birthday! What a treat!

Megan is the girl next door. Literally. Joseph is going to marry her one day. ; )

Addison

You may remember Lynn & Shawn from their maternity session last month.  Well, little Addison was welcomed to the world just a few short weeks after that maternity session.  She was so cooperative on her first official day as a model. She even stayed awake the whole time! Of course, she conked out in my arms right after we were done (I'm so lucky!) Being that cute can really tucker a lady out!

Cordelia & family

Cordelia was three weeks old when we did this photo session. What a sweetheart! She was cooperative when it came to getting her portraits done, but it was clear her favourite place is in Mommy, Daddy, or Grandpa's arms. Her brother Winston is a sweetheart and I know he's going to be a wonderful big brother!

Dayvah

I was very fortunate last week to be able to spend a couple of hours with darling Dayvah. You might remember her parents, Kylah & Zack, from earlier this month.  As parents, they're naturals! You'd think they'd been looking after this baby for two months, not two weeks!  I've said this before, but I just love new parents. They are so happy, so proud... just beaming with excitement.

Logan Peter

Remember MaryLou and Tom? Well, they had their baby! And what a cutie he is! I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of weeks ago and capturing some lovely images of the little darling.  I couldn't get over how he looked so much older than just 12 days! Congratulations Tom & MaryLou!

Abby Gail

I got to meet tiny little Abby Gail when she was only a couple of weeks old. Her proud parents are good friends of ours. She was such a perfect model - gave me a few 'awake' shots, then proceeded to sleep right through the whole photo session, no matter what we did with her.

I just couldn't resist posting another few pictures of precious Rebecca in my new format. I still can't believe we have a baby girl in the family! Congratulations, Janice, Edward, William & Jack!

Welcome Rebecca!

I'm delighted to introduce the newest member of our family, and my first niece, Rebecca Susan born August 22nd. She is as cute as they come and a perfect little model!
